This tour offers departure points in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana. Depending on your pick-up point selection, the tour duration will be from 10 to 12 days. The price will vary accordingly. The Base Tour, or core, will begin on the day the last group of travelers join the tour, and end on the first day they begin to leave. Additions, like a "Gathering" or "Post" core night, to that base tour will allow all travelers the convenience of departing from as close to home as possible.

* Travelers departing from IOWA, MINNESOTA, WISCONSIN or ILLINOIS, take advantage of a transfer to our ‘gathering overnight’ hotel in Mishawaka, IN. All remaining travelers can either arrive on your own at the hotel for a complimentary overnight or choose to wait and join the group on October 21 from one of our identified Indiana departure locations
* For those spending the night in Mishawaka, get acquainted with fellow travelers and your tour manager; and enjoy a complimentary breakfast the following morning
October 21
* Sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful Ohio farmlands and the rolling hills and forests of Pennsylvania
* We will enjoy dinner together prior to a restful first night of our two-night stay at Best Western - Gettysburg, PA
October 22
* We start our day at the Gettysburg Visitor’s Center and Cyclorama. A captivating must-see is the 377’ by 42’ canvas painting depicting the third day battle of Pickett’s Charge
* On our guided tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield, we’ll learn about the clash that took place. Here, the Northern victory gave the Union forces a much needed morale lift and ultimately ended General Lee’s plan to invade the North
* We’ll then enjoy lunch at General Pickett’s Buffet
* The rest of the day is yours to explore and have dinner on your own
October 23
* We’ll be surrounded with beautiful views as we drive through Shenandoah Mountain Skyline Drive
* Later we’ll arrive at Monticello, the historic estate of Thomas Jefferson
* Continuing on, we arrive in Williamsburg, VA, known worldwide as the principal center for conserving and interpreting American colonial history
* After dinner together, we'll settle in for the first night of our twonight stay at the SpringHill Suites in Williamsburg, VA
October 24
* We’ll start our day with a visit to Jamestown Settlement, a living history museum that includes a re-creation of the original fort
* The rest of the day is yours in Colonial Williamsburg. There’s something for all to enjoy, including taking part in hands-on activities, taking guided tours of original 18th-century buildings, viewing its unmatched folk art collection, and MORE!
October 25
* To start our day, we will visit the National Museum of the United States Army that celebrates over 245 years of Army history and honors soldiers past, present, and future
* Arriving in the Washington, D.C. area, our first stop will be the Marine Corps War Memorial, dedicated to all Marines who have given their lives for our country since 1775
* A tour highlight, and sure to be one of our treasured memories, is a tour of Arlington National Cemetery including the Changing of the Guard Ceremony
* Enjoy dining on your own this evening followed by a stroll to see the Jefferson, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Martin Luther King Jr., Korean, and Lincoln Memorials
* We'll spend the next three nights at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in one of D.C.'s oldest districts - Old Town Alexandria
October 26
* We will start our day with a U.S. Capitol tour - the legislative branch seat of the United States federal government
* The Smithsonian Museum Complex holds over 155 million artifacts in trust for the American people. This afternoon, you may choose from three museums for your exploration: Smithsonian National Air & Space, National Museum of the American Indian, or Smithsonian National Museum of African Art
* We'll dine together this evening in Washington D.C. which will be followed with an event (TBD)
October 27
* We'll make daytime visits to the Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, the Reflecting Pool and World War II Memorial
* Together, we'll arrive for a self-guided tour of the Holocaust Museum - a living memorial to the victims of the Holocaust
* Again, you may choose the Smithsonian Museum that best suits your interest: National Museum of Natural History, National Gallery of Art or National Museum of American History
* Enjoy a free evening in Old Town to dine on your own
October 28
* We'll tour George and Martha Washington's historic Mount Vernon home where we'll enjoy a boxed lunch afterward
* Our dinner together this evening will be a wonderful time to share tour highlights with each other prior to our restful overnight at the Hampton Inn - Somerset, PA
October 29
* Today, we start our travels home. Along the way we will stop at the Flight 93 National Memorial commemorating 9/11
* Travelers departing the tour in INDIANA, ILLINOIS, and WISCONSIN welcome back to your departure locations
* Travelers continuing on to Iowa and Minnesota, enjoy a relaxing overnight in the Chicagoland area
October 30
