This tour offers departure points in Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, and Indiana.  Depending on your pick-up point selection, the tour duration will be from 9 to 11 days.  The price will vary accordingly.  The “Base Tour”, or core, will begin on the day the last group of travelers join the tour, and end on the first day they begin to leave.  “Additions”, like a "Gathering" or "Post" core night, to that base tour will allow all travelers the convenience of departing from as close to home as possible.

March 15

* Travelers departing from IOWA, MINNESOTA, or ILLINOIS, take advantage of a transfer to our 'gathering overnight' hotel at the Hyatt Place South Bend - Mishawaka, IN. Remaining travelers can arrive on their own at the hotel for a complimentary night or join the group on March 16 from one of our identified Indiana departure locations.
* For those spending the night in Mishawaka, meet your fellow travelers and your Tour Manager, and enjoy breakfast the next morning.

March 16

* This morning, enjoy the rolling farmland views as we travel to Kentucky - the "Bluegrass State."
* Berea, known as Kentucky’s "beating heart" of folk arts, offers a historic tour with our step-on guide.
* We’ll enjoy dinner together and overnight in Berea, KY.

* This morning, we travel to Georgia - the "Peach State."
* Award-winning exhibits, historic houses, and stunning gardens are ours to explore at the Atlanta History Center.
* Our overnight will be at the Drury Inn & Suites - Morrow, GA. You may choose to make the Drury Inn’s "Kickback" your evening meal or enjoy one of the nearby restaurants.

* On our Savannah guided trolley tour, we’ll view cobblestone streets, manicured gardens, and much more!
* Featured on HGTV and described as a "must-see," we’ll learn about the history of the Sorrel-Weed House.
* Enjoy free time to explore Savannah’s coastal landscapes, well-preserved architecture, and history.
* The first of our two overnights is at the Drury Plaza Hotel Savannah Pooler - Pooler, GA. You may choose to make the Drury Plaza’s "Kickback" your evening meal or enjoy one of the nearby restaurants.

* We’ll begin our day with a guided walking tour of Savannah’s beautiful historic churches.
* We’ll be buzzing at the Savannah Bee Factory while viewing the bees’ amazing activities through glassencased hives and touring an outdoor garden.
* Enjoy free time in Savannah’s Historic District.
* Savor a Savannah riverboat dinner cruise before nightfall.

* We’ll start the day at Charleston Tea Garden, where we’ll see hundreds of thousands of tea bushes.
* Enjoy lunch and free time in Charleston.
* Take a guided carriage tour through Charleston’s French Quarter and Battery districts, past unique pastel homes.
* On our city tour, we’ll visit the Joseph Manigault House - an example of a wealthy family's lifestyle in the 1800s.
* We'll spend the next two nights at the Drury Plaza Hotel North in Charleston, SC. Choose to make the Drury Plaza’s "Kickback" your evening meal or enjoy a nearby restaurant.

* Today we explore Fort Sumter. The attack on Fort Sumter is noted as the beginning of the American Civil War.
* Have lunch on your own and explore Charleston.
* We’ll enjoy dinner at a local restaurant prior to turning in for the evening.

* Explore Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum, discover Medal of Honor stories, see WWII ships, and more!
* With our lunch, we’ll enjoy southern fare.
* Enjoy dinner on your own en route to our overnight stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites - Asheville, NC.

* Today, we relax and enjoy the passing scenery on our way to our overnight in Lexington, KY.
* Next, we’ll visit Mary Todd Lincoln’s (wife of President Abraham Lincoln) house to learn more about her life, and enjoy one of Mrs. Lincoln's famous white cupcakes.
* Before turning in at the Embassy Suites by Hilton, enjoy the manager's reception and have dinner on your own.

* As we start our journey home, relax and enjoy the views while sharing your trip highlights with your fellow travelers.
* Travelers departing the tour in INDIANA and ILLINOIS, welcome back to your departure locations.
* Travelers continuing to Iowa and Minnesota, enjoy a relaxing overnight at the Doubletree Hotel - Alsip, IL.
