Sept 13 - Basel
* Your adventure begins! Relax on your overnight flight to Basel, Switzerland from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport.
* A Legacy Tour & Travel host will be with you throughout the tour to assist you through the airports and work on your behalf with the Viking host.
Sept 14 - Basel
* Upon arriving in Basel and transferring to our hotel, the remainder of the day is free. Walk the Rhine promenade or opt for a traditional Rhine ferry, a motorless craft using the river's current and a pulley system for crossing.
* A Viking Host is on hand to assist in planning your Basel explorations to maximize your free time.
Sept 15 - Basel
* We start this morning with a guided walking tour through historic Basel, including a visit to the Marktplatz (Market Square) and Rathaus (Town Hall).
* The afternoon is free to explore on your own. You can visit the Barfüsser Church, Basel Historical Museum, or the Kunstmuseum with one of Europe's largest art collections.
Sept 16 - Basel
* Enjoy this morning's free time exploring the culture-rich city. Browse the Basel Museum of Fine Arts or take a stroll through the Cartoon Museum Basel.
* This afternoon, we embark on our cruise.
* Viking Cruise: While on the cruise, one complimentary shore excursion is available for you at each port of call.
Sept 17 - Breisach
* Breisach, home to Germany’s fabled Black Forest region, is sure to offer stunning views.

* Strasbourg is a unique multicultural city blending French and German cultures. While here, enjoy learning about this city’s rich historical roots and experiencing its vibrant culture including the famed Strasbourg Cathedral.

* Speyer, a UNESCO Site, is known for its Romanesque imperial cathedral and its significance during the Holy Roman Empire. Rüdesheim, nestled in Germany's Rheingau region, serves as the area's winemaking hub.

* While sailing along the Middle Rhine, a designated UNESCO site, enjoy views of vineyard-covered hills, hilltop castles, and Lorelei Rock. Here, the myth tells of a maiden turned siren after leaping into the Rhine due to an unfaithful lover, causing fishermen to crash.
* Over 2,000 years old, Koblenz, Germany evokes a medieval charm with cobblestone streets, flower-adorned houses, an ancient market square, and medieval churches.
Sept 21 - Cologne
* Cologne, a cultural hub for over 2,000 years, boasts the iconic Cologne Gothic cathedral, a UNESCO Site. Despite enduring World War II bombings, its twin spires remain visible for miles, and its stained-glass windows fill the interior with vibrant light.

* Kinderdijk is famed for its 19 preserved 18th-century windmills, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Linked to the 1865 novel "Hans Brinker," where a boy's bravery saves the day by plugging a ruptured dike, these windmills reflect the Dutch people's ingenuity in harnessing water power.

* Amsterdam features charming canals, elegant gabled houses, and splendid museums. Its network of waterways links about 90 islands via 1,500 bridges.
* After breakfast onboard the ship we’ll transfer to the hotel.
* Enjoy a walking tour of Amsterdam‘s charming streets and neighborhoods.
* The rest of your day is free to enjoy Amsterdam's wonderful restaurants and many attractions.
* Please Note: The Anne Frank House is very popular. Should you plan to visit it, we advise purchasing your tickets well in advance online at the museum's website.
Sept 24 - Amsterdam
* Enjoy breakfast and a free day to explore Amsterdam's charming neighborhoods and sample some treats.
* This evening, you may choose to dine in a local restaurant. Amsterdam offers many establishments in the "grand café" style and is also known for excellent Indonesian cuisine. Enjoy the city’s lively nightlife.
Sept 25 - Amsterdam
* After breakfast, we say goodbye to the beautiful city of Amsterdam and start our journey home.
* Arriving at Chicago O'Hare Airport, you will be greeted by your transfer driver for your return trip to your chosen departure location.
* You return home with wonderful memories and photos from your adventure to share with family and friends.
